Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made Newcastle United star Alexander Isak his priority target up front.
The Gunners appear to need more quality in attack, with Arteta currently finding himself a little too reliant on Bukayo Saka, who has played plenty of football at a relatively young age, while Kai Havertz is operating as a makeshift No.9 instead outstanding in its best position.
OFFICIAL: Arsenal’s worst nightmare confirmed!
according to TEAMtalkIsak is now top of Arsenal’s list to strengthen up front, and one imagines there will be plenty of other clubs also keeping an eye the situation of the Swedish international in Newcastle.
Isak is yet to sign a new contract at St James’ Park, although it is imagined that this will not necessarily be a matter of urgency either due to his current deal which expires in 2028.

TEAMtalk claim that while a move is considered difficult, it is not necessarily considered impossible, with Arsenal manager Arteta making it clear to the AFC board that he wants the 25-year-old.
Is Alexander Isak the missing piece of the puzzle for Arsenal?
Isak is a joy to watch when fit, and links with a big name like Arsenal are no surprise after what he has achieved at Newcastle.
The former Real Sociedad man has an impressive record of 40 goals in 78 games for NUFC, and club legend Alan Shearer has previously praised him for BBC as “of the highest quality” in all areas.
“His whole game is really, really top notch,” Shearer said of Isak. “His runs are great. If you just watch how smart he is when he doesn’t get the first pass play, then he gets behind a defender to come back in and double his run to make sure he’s in game, then it can make a very clever ending.”
Our columnist Charles Watts, an Arsenal fan and journalist, has also described it Isak seems like the perfect fit for the Gunners.
