The history of Major League Baseball has seen many big-name players change teams via trade or free agency.
Some superstars on the move include Juan Soto going to the New York Mets, Kyle Tucker going to the Chicago Cubs, and Corbin going to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Right around spring training, third baseman Alex Bregan remains unsigned, but one insider says the Houston Astros star is drawing interest and has not been ruled out.
“Houston Stars keep Ajar in the door to bring back free agent third baseman Alex Bregman, but aren’t optimistic. Bregman has serious offers from at least two teams,” wrote Bob Nightingale at X.
The Houston Stars are keeping Ajar in the door for the return of free agent third baseman Alex Bregman, but Bregman has serious offers from at least 2 teams.
If the Astros pull out, Bregan could stay at 3B, Isaac Paredes moves to 2B and JOSE Altuve moves to LF.– Bob Nightengale (@bnightengale) January 23, 2025
Bregman played all nine seasons of his MLB career with the Astros.
In 2024, he played in 145 games and batted 260 with 26 home runs, 75 RBI and a .768 OPS.
Although NightEngale did not mention the two teams that offered Bregman, the deals are likely close to the size and length of the contract.
Bregman will be a name to watch out for coming off the offseason, as he’s arguably the biggest star to remain unsigned right now.
The Astros might have to adjust to life after Bregman if he decides to sign anywhere.
