Efe Ajagba is back in the knockout column. The Nigerian powerhouse made a statement in the main event of Zuffa Boxing 03, systematically dismantling former IBF champion Charles Martin before forcing a fourth-round stoppage on Paramount+.
After a cage opening, Ajagba took total control in the third. A flurry of heavy leather sent Martin to the canvas, and while the veteran showed heart to beat the count, the writing was on the wall. Ajagba refused to give up, stalking his prey and landing clean, thundering shots that shifted the momentum entirely in his favor.
The final blow
The end came quickly in the fourth. Ajagba dropped Martin again, and although the former titleholder reached his feet, he was on unsteady legs. Referee Thomas Taylor saw enough and stepped in to wave off the contest as Ajagba continued the onslaught.
The victory is a massive bounce back for Ajagba, who came after a frustrating majority draw. It’s his first knockout win since 2024 and puts the heavyweight division on a high.
For Martin, the loss is a bitter pill to swallow in his Zuffa Boxing debut. With two defeats in his last three outings, the veteran finds himself at a career crossroads. Meanwhile, Ajagba’s share has never been higher. Finishing a sustainable former world champion cemented his place as a top contender ready for the biggest names in the sport.
The night ended with a clinical display of heavyweight power, leaving no doubt that Ajagba is ready for the next level.
