The last and only time India played the collaboration games in Delhi was 15 years ago.
Ahmedabad is scheduled to stage 2030-year-old cooperation games after the Executive Board of Cooperation advised the city as a proposed host.
This decision is now expected to be a rubber stamp in the General Assembly of Cooperation in Glasgow on November 26, 2025.
If confirmed, India has beaten Nigeria to host the games, the two countries have submitted official proposals last month.
The 2030 games will be appointed the centennial of the inauguration in Hamilton, Canada in 1930.
The last time India staged the games in 2010 in Delhi, 4352 athletes competed with 272 events.

Ahmedabad’s proposal is following the detailed process controlled by the Sports Assessment Committee, which evaluates candidate cities against the wide range of criteria, technical delivery of sports sports, management, and alignment.

“The Executive Board carefully considered the conclusions of the Assessment Committee and advised Ahmedabad to our membership. This is a significant milestone for movement when we look at our members.
“The Council was impressed with the vision of Nigeria’s proposal and ambitious and united in our commitment to continue working with their team to study further hosting opportunities.
