Ahmed Shehzad was furious with Pakistan’s T20 batting options in the 2nd Test

32 years old Pakistan National Cricket Team Batsman Ahmed Shehzad, who is currently out of the national team’s scheme of things, lashed out at the Pakistanis for their poor batting options in the second Test of the two-match series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team.

In the second Test against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the Pakistanis were quite underwhelming. In the first innings, they managed to score just 274 runs in 85.1 overs, with only three players, Shan Masood, Saim Ayub and Salman Agha scoring half-centuries.

Meanwhile, in the second innings, when Pakistan badly needed runs, the batsmen failed to deliver again. Only two players, Muhammad Rizwan and Agha Salman, touched the 40-run mark as the hosts were bundled out for 172 in 46.4 overs.

In a video shared on his official X arm, Ahmed Shehzad mocked the Pakistani batsmen, saying the Bangladeshi bowlers made them dance to their tune. He then lashed out at the batsmen in Test cricket for playing T20 innings and not learning from their mistakes.

“Bangladeshi bowlers are hitting back. The Bangladeshi bowlers again made the Pakistani batsmen dance to their tune. The same shooting options we talked about. T20 shots – we’ve seen them again. A batsman’s bat gets too far off his bat.

“When a player gets out like that in T20 cricket or T10 cricket too, coaches ask if it’s too much. In Test cricket, you get out by hitting those shots. You don’t learn from your mistakes. Maybe you don’t have the charm and ability, or maybe we’re making a mistake in expecting you,” he told X in the shared video.

That means it’s not a coincidence – Ahmed Shehzad on Bangladesh’s dominance over Pakistan

Ahmed Shehzad further exposed the reality of Pakistan cricket, saying that the level of the team has hit rock bottom and Bangladesh’s dominance is no accident. Ahmed Shehzad said:

“The Bangladesh cricket test team has come here. They defeated you in the first meeting and made history. After that, they dominate in the second match as well. That means it’s not a coincidence. When you lose to Zimbabwe, Afghanistan or Ireland, it’s no accident. This is the reality of Pakistan cricket. You have brought Pakistan cricket to this level.”

Ahmed Shehzad also blasted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and blamed them for the team’s downfall. According to Ahmed Shehzad, PCB failed to take bold decisions and they tried their best to distract the fans but now it has been exposed.

“I do not call the players responsible for this. The PCB is equally responsible as the players. Because some things were right in front of us. We had to make some decisions. But we did what we always do. We tried to distract the public by talking on TV. After that we thought Bangladesh cricket will come. We will definitely defeat them. When we defeat them, the anger of the people will cool down. Then when will we start the Pakistan Cup? Your whole plan has backfired and fallen flat on your face.”

At stumps on Day 4, Bangladesh National Cricket Team were 42/0 and just 143 runs away from a historic Test series win.
