Carlos Alcaraz will be the center of the European team in this week’s Laver Cup in San Francisco, while in the opposite bench, one of the greats of all time of tennis will plot against him.
Laver Cup, always seems to give, right?
The big eight times champion Andre Agassi makes his debut as captain of the team world, joining John MCCEE, and he is already catching his lid on world No.1, a player he is excited to see close and personal this weekend at Chase Center in San Francico.

“There is no place in the world where he goes and he is not the favorite of the crowd,” Agassi said Atptoour.com. “And for obvious reasons. What he has brought to the game is a mix of the last generation we had.
“I know that Novak is still playing, but Novak, Roger and Rafa – he is like a combination of all those in one, with RPMS he can decide (on the ball), the protection he has as Novak, the feeling he has as a fed.
The admiration is real, and pretty universal at this point, but Agassi knows he’ll also have to prepare his team to put the kibosh on Alcaraz’s brilliance. Easier said than done...
“(He is) one of the most explosive players, the dynamics the game has ever seen,” Agassi said. “I’ve seen him play live several times, but being there down to court next to it will be something special.”
