with Successful Success season of TGL now in the rear mirrorWhere does the Simulatory League go from here?
Last month, ESPN reported a desire for TGL to expand And explore including the LPGA players, building in the 2025 momentum.
And now TGL has made titles officially announcing that Motor City Golf Club will be the other team added to the list. The Detroit team will join the League in 2027.
Now we are all asking what the next tgl will do.
Throughout the high and low levels, there is always room for improvement. For the whole good season given, there were some obstacles. Whether it was technology (Sorry, Tommy Fleetwood), explosions, match times or simply interview issues, it is clear that TGL must evolve.
The question remains: how?
I will be the first to admit I was not the most stable viewer of TGL. In a house with two young children under the age of two, general fatigue always seemed to coincide with the start time. However, when I did a tuning, the matches were fun and I provided the viewers with a fun alternative for the regular broadcast of the weekend golf.
After their formula, here are five ways of how TGL can be adapted to build on the best parts of the product while strengthening some weaknesses.
1. Expansion with new exclusivity

This is more noticeable because it is already started with motor City along the way.
TGL currently has six different teams (soon there will be seven) with a list of 24 players in total. The easiest way to increase their brand? Present more teams in different geographical places.
South Florida, Atlanta, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Boston were a strong start for the founding cities. Now Detroit adds a Midwest presence.
Each of these areas has stored sports history and expanding to that foundation. The inclusion of premises like Texas (Dallas) or other areas in the Midwest (Kansas City) looks like the next logical step in an expansion. However, areas like DC and Denver represent intriguing potential as well.
Construction of these regions allows other PGAs to start leading a new team. Names like Jordan Spieth, Scottie Scheffler, Akshay Bhatia and Tony Finau could catch their teams. The connection already shows seven of the top 10 players is the world. By introducing more names, especially those on top of OWGR continue to build their brand.
And can there be arena built in these cities to create a travel league with household and road teams?
It is an intriguing option.
2. Adding a Waver wire
TGL is, at its core, a “fantasy” sport. Funny holes, a 64 -legged screen and a rotating landscape are everything, but based on reality.
The TGL should bend in this chaos and present the waist wire.
Allowing teams to add/release players players will increase the “fantasy” aspect we have already seen with different holes and game patterns. Teams realize they are there to have fun and have fun. I don’t think any of them entered each match by treating it as Ninth Sunday in Augusta. What is the point.
So let the captains have more freedom to manage their list.
We have already seen Finau sign a contract with a match. What about building this so that others can do the same?
The presentation of a group of players to label inside and outside allows more freedom and creativity from the captains. If someone is on a Tour PGA heater, the captains may want to get them. Visible boundaries will have to be placed in place. A shocked list does not make good TV.
3. Including more legends
Comparisons will occur. Scottie is in a absolute tears Right now, and comparisons with Tiger are inevitable. With all the data and analytics that are collected daily during a golf tournament, this can go one of the two ways.
First, TGL can create a team “Legends” to challenge teams for special matches. Having some great games like Fred’s couples, Rocco Mediate, John Daly and Miguel Angel Jiemenez Square against young boys could do for entertaining/entertaining television. Seeing how the big ones stand against the younger generation can help to fill out the sight of these names to go with their feet against one another.
Would it be perfect? No. Fun? Yes.
The second is a little stretched, but still fun. With all the statistics and analytics collected from a golf round, it is possible to create a “ghost” team of the big ones.
Seve, Palmer, Snead, Nicklaus and all in the middle. Teams would play CPUs of types with the statistical averages of each large serving as their ability. I know this is completely removed and funny … But if we can get a Hologram Tupac in Coachella, who knows?
4. Adding LPGA players
This builds the ESPN item previously referred to – and is delayed.
The LPGA Tour has some of their stars. Ladies have a serious game and it’s time that the casual fan learns more about names that dominate women’s game. Like #Girlldad, I want to sit with my daughter and watch TGL with her and tell her that ladies are just as good (if not better in certain aspects of the game) than some of the men.
Nelly Korda, Rose Zhang, Lydia KO and Charley Hull are just a few names that come to mind as a starting point. Even Justin Thomas’s likes have taken into account Crazy commitment these ladies have for their crafts.
Not only do I believe that a team of ladies can win a TGL match, they could win the seasonal event.
5. Creating team uniforms
This may be more complicated taking into account contracts and sponsorships vary from individual to individual. But in my opinion, there must be standardized team uniforms.
I think every viewer will agree to see Tiger, Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim all in a match in three different shades of red was a sore eye. The Ryder Cup has understood this fashion faux with their uniforms. Why can’t TGL?
He gives a “golf friends friends” instead of the “championship match” vibrations. While the rest of the ensemble was saving (strap, pants, shoes, hat), the lack of a uniform was a loud noise.
If TGL can somehow understand this, I’m sure it will be a golden goods of goods. All the team’s other brand dresses were quite popular. TGL should take advantage of this opportunity and add team uniforms to the mix.
What else is there?
Despite the few shortcomings, TGL was a massive success in my opinion. He gave golf a very necessary incentive and offered casual fans an opportunity to allocate to a quick, entertaining weekly event.
I, for one, look forward to next year.
