Aldershot, Farnham & District won silver in the women’s under-20 race in Albufeira, Portugal.
Aldershot, Farnham & District Athletics Club had strong performances at the European Club Cross-Cost Championships in Albufeira, Portugal, highlighted by a silver medal in the Under-20 Women’s Team Competition.
Competing against national champion clubs from across Europe, the AFD Under-20 Women put in an excellent team performance to secure second place overall, level with Turkish champions Fenerbahce on 20 points. Katie Pye led the team in fourth, followed by Kitty Scott in sixth, Sabrina Coppola Johansen in 10th and Tillie Robertson in 39th.

The team included three members of the AFD team that won the England Under 17 Cross Country Relay Championships in Mansfield in November.
The club was also represented in the men’s under-20 race, with Aldershot, Farnham & District finishing fifth in the team standings in a top European field. William Smith led AFD in 15th, supported by Onjoro Sumba (17th), Ollie Russell (21st) and Jacob Pearce (24th).

The men’s team was nominated to represent Great Britain at the European Championships after winning the England Under-20 Cross Country Relay Championships in Mansfield.
The European Championship Club Cross Country Championship brings together leading clubs across the continent and these results highlight the continued strength of Aldershot, Farnham & District AC at Under-20 level and their ability to perform successfully on the international stage.
Great Britain also represented Central AC in the senior men’s race, led by Jamie Crowe (9th) and finishing seventh as a team. Molly Smith (8th) was the first home for Herne Hill Harriers to help them finish fifth in the senior women’s race.
