Abdullah Mason says he is open to the possibility of fighting Sam Noakes #1 for the vacant WBO lightweight title in England if this is where the game finally takes place. The World Boxing Organization is expected to be the Mason vs. Noakes fight ordered, after Keyshawn Davis was stripped of the WBO title last Friday.

Mason (19-0, 17 CO’s) would be a big favorite against British fighter, Noakes, no matter where the fight is performed. Noakes (17-0, 15 COs) would not be able to rely on his fans or the judges to avoid a knockout loss to Abdullah.
Last Saturday, Mason, 21, destroyed veteran Jeremiah Nakathila by a fifth round in Norfolk, Virginia. He fought more conservatively than he usually does because of Nakathila’s punching force, but he still did quickly from the 35-year work.
Mason told Keyshawn before being stripped that he would come to him next. The fight is no longer possible because of Davis’ failure to gain weight for his canceled title defense against Edin de Lo Santos.

Unless the WBO Noakes wants to upgrade to champion without fighting, he is facing it and he must fight Abdullah Mason for the vacant band. Whether the fight is happening in England or not, Noakes has little chance of getting it past the third round against Mason. It could be one of Abdullah’s easier fighting because Sam has no punching force. You could argue that Nakathila would be a very difficult battle for Noakes, and I could see him losing him.
