Abdullah Mason says he is interested in Keyshawn Davis for his WBO lightweight title. Mason (18-0, 16 costs) points out that he has been raised to #2 on the WBO’s rankings, and that, if possible, he wants to encounter Keyshawn.
Abdullah Mason vs. Nakasihila
Mason is fighting against veteran Jeremiah Nakathila (26-4, 21 COs) in a 10-round fought in the co-function on this Saturday, June 7 at Keyshawn’s bottom map in the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The main card for Keyshawn against Edwin de Los Santos starts at 22:00 ET /19:00 PT on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+.
With the way Abdullah, 21, acted, he must be the most important event, not Keyshawn. However, Mason has not yet caught a belt, and it is holding him back now. The top ranking won Keyshawn in February last year the 135-pound WBO title against the much smaller and older 37-year-old Denys Berinchyk.
It was the perfect situation for Davis to win a belt. Mason doesn’t have to be so strategically matched because he has the talent to beat any of the champions at 135 without the extra help.
Mason targets the Davis title
‘Absolutely. We are both in the same section, and I just got the news that I am #2 in the WBO. He is the champion in that sanction body. So it seems very possible that I and I will cross roads, ‘Abdullah Mason said Fighting type When asked if he was interested in fighting Keyhawn Davis.
As long as Keyshawn and Abdullah are both with the highest rank, I do not see the fight happening. Their promoters do not want to match them because it will destroy one of their revenue streams. If Keyshawn loses, its current popularity may never recover. He did not show himself a riskcake. So, if Abdullah Davis exposes andy Cruz repeatedly in the amateurs, he is likely to disappear in uncertainty, rather than taking the necessary battles to save himself.
Mason challenges lightweight champions
“But it’s with any of the champions in the lightweight section,” Abdullah said. “Keyshawn Davis, Tank Davis, Shakur Stevenson and Raymond Muratalla. These are the four champions.”
Some of the belt containers at 135 are the only one that Mason would have a chance to get a fight against Muratalla soon. Even with him, the top ranking can choose to keep them separate because they would shoot themselves in the foot by feeding a fight between them.
“I’m ready for The World Championships, but just because they want me to wait, it doesn’t mean I won’t be prepared, “Mason said of whether his team or the top rank would hold him back to take care of him longer.” If they were to throw me in with a champion, I would be ready to get the job done and get to the best victory. ‘
Mason has to move up to 140 because he will be clarified by the non-top-top ranking champions at 135, and he will age without achieving much of anything else but to beat the contenders without name. If Abdullah moves to 140 or preferably 147, he has many opportunities for compelling battles. The top rank would not protect him or keep him away from the champions in those weight classes.
