Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees seems like he can’t miss this season, and at this point, the superstar player has been on a historic tear for nearly the entire summer.
It’s gotten to the point where a new stat appears every day that further solidifies him among the greatest ever, and he recently compared one of his season stats to a round number he hadn’t seen in 20 years.
Baseball Reference shared at X that Judge’s .701 on-base percentage would make him the first player since Barry Bonds in 2004.
Aaron Judge is hitting .701 this season. 🔥
The last player to have a SLG% over .700 in a season with at least 300 PA was Barry Bonds in 2004.#yankees |: #RepBX pic.twitter.com/LIw4LLMlQl

Bonds slumped to .812 in 2004, the fourth year in a row.
Judge hit .686 in 2022, when he set an American League record with 62 homers, and he is now on pace for 59 this season.
The other names on the Baseball-Reference list are some of the best power hitters of all time, who all played in different eras than Judge, and it is becoming common to see Judge listed among some of these all-time greats.
Judge has his second MVP at this point, but is done at this point as his numbers get funnier by the day to the point where he’s now starting to get more of the Barry Bonds treatment.
Teams are finally starting to realize that they’re better off walking Judge on purpose, so his chances of improving this slugging percentage will be few and far between the rest of this season.
