You are grasping that fat or thin, but with some practical shakes and a stretch rod, you can fix things for good. Here is a drill to use.

You are catching that fat. You are catching it thin. Much of this happens due to the way the hip movement and the knee of your tracks in your landing. With some practical oscillations and a stretch rod, however, you can fix things for good.
Try this to stabilize your landing
Slide a rod through the loops of your front belt and you have a friends’ videotape of your swinging.
If you are like most REC players who struggle with sustainability and wrong shots, you will notice that the rod sinks significantly on your back as you approach the impact (below).

This is “Stay Back” and it’s not good (if you don’t like to lose straight roads and greens). What you need, as I tell my students, is more of a “balanced table”, with your hips relatively even when hitting the ball. Something something you will see when the rod in this exercise remains more parallel to the Earth. The trick is to redefine your back knee as you swing in the influence while moving it to the target (below).
