Yamaha rider Fabio Quattararo used his qualifying effort to climb from P4 to P2 on the fearsome V4 YZR-M1 as Di Giannantonio attempted to pull away from the field early in the sprint. Quatararo quickly passed Bezecic and Marquez on lap 1.

The Yamaha M1’s faults saw Quatararo only hold on to P2, while Márquez aboard the Ducati GP26 built up in the Goiania Sprint before taking up position on lap 3. Aprilia Ace Bezcicci followed Márquez despite Quatarro doing his best.
