In a tense moment during the ongoing first Test match between Bangladesh and South Africa, a humorous incident provided much-needed entertainment. Bangladeshi fast bowler Hasan Mahmood bowled South Africa with a lower order batter Dane Piedt with a wild pitch between a one-run fumble in the first innings.
Overnight batsmen Wiaan Mulder and Kyle Verreynne started the second day of play with a confident approach. Wiaan Mulder and Kyle Verreynne added a 119-run stand for the seventh wicket in South Africa’s first innings. Both knocks completed half-centuries against Bangladesh’s spin attack.
However, Hasan Mahmood took two crucial wickets, dismissing Mulder and Keshav Maharaj in back-to-back balls. The visitors were restricted to 227/8 before Dane Piedt joined Kyle Verreynne. On Day 2, a hilarious mayhem ensued with a comedy of errors before the lunch break.

The incident happened on the last ball of South Africa’s 69th over. Hasan Mahmood bowled a low shot and Piedt drove it back towards the bowler. The ball went beyond Mahmud’s hand and hit the stumps at the non-striker’s end. Kyle Verreynne was inside the crease for survival.
However, Piedt ran for a single but his partner Verreynne stayed at his crease. The lowly batter returned to the striker’s end after realizing the miscommunication. Hasan Mahmud tried to throw, but it hit Piedt’s thigh. This moment has caught the attention of users on social media platforms.
