O’Shaquie Foster says Haney and Tank have more to their Arsenal than Shakur Stevenson

“Obviously I’m Shakur over everybody, but between those three, I don’t know,” Foster told Fight Hub TV. “Devin or Tank, one of them. I think they have more to their arsenal than a Shakur. I’m also talking about mental. Like attributes.”

Foster pointed to Haney’s length, reach and jab as advantages, while praising Davis’ versatility.

“I think they’re mentally tough, and I feel like the attributes they bring, it’s a little bit more. Devin is taller, taller, sharper with the jab and certain things. Then we know Tank is shorter, explosive, he can box, he can punch,” Foster said.

Foster’s assessment also reflected how he views Stevenson outside the ring.

Revisiting their confrontation after Foster defeated Raymond Ford to regain the WBC super featherweight title in April, Foster dismissed Stevenson’s performance as theatrical rather than sincere.

“He’s a clown,” Foster said. “If you’re going to do it, do it.”

Foster argued Shakur got into the ring and acted like he wanted a fight knowing that security would prevent anything from happening. In boxing, a competitor entering the ring after a big win has traditionally signaled a fight is on the cards, but Foster suggested the moment was more about creating that impression than seriously pursuing the bout.

“You don’t have to act like you’re taking your jewelry off. You don’t have to play crazy and talk. If you’re going to do it, do it,” Foster said. “If you take your jewelry off, it gives people time to break it up or come in between us.”

Foster said Shakur briefly shifted attention to himself during the biggest win of his career by getting in the ring and giving the impression he wanted the fight. However, after the theatrical facial expression, Foster said Shakur disappeared, and he never heard from him again about making the match.

While a fight with Stevenson doesn’t appear to be getting any closer to reality, Foster said his preferred next opponent is WBO champion Emanuel Navarrete, calling it the fight that would establish the clear #1 fighter at 130 pounds before moving up in weight.
