Plimmer anchored the innings with a solid knock that included three boundaries and a six, while Halliday provided the late on to add quick runs. Izzy Gaze also played a useful role towards the end with 20 runs off 14 balls.
With the West Indies bowlers keeping the pressure on throughout Deandra Dottin leading the charge. He produced an exceptional spell, taking 4 wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs, including the crucial dismissals of Bates and Plimmer. In reply, West Indies started their chase cautiously but struggled to find momentum against a dense New Zealand bowling attack. Hayley Matthews and Qiana Joseph tried to give the team a steady start but regular wickets halted their progress. The highlight came as Dottin hit a blistering 33 off 22 balls to leave West Indies needing quick runs in the final overs. Despite a late effort by Fletcher (17 off 15) and Zaida James (8 off 14), West Indies fell short, ending on 120/8 after 20 overs.
New Zealand’s bowlers showed excellent control Eden Carson being an outstanding performer. His haul of 3 wickets for 29 runs turned the game in the Kiwis’ favor, earning him the Man of the Match award. Amelia Kerr also shone with the numbers 2/14 Fran Jonas and Bates took a wicket each to stifle the West Indies chase.

wow! What a challenge to bring Suzie Bates to the final. Heartening for WI but you have to hand it to NZ. Bates and Devine finally hit the big one. The SA hot streak stands in their way. The final must be a cracker! #T20WorldCup
