We tested six Odyssey players as part of this year The most requested test in three categories: blade, hammer hammer, zero torque. Combined, these categories represent nearly 50,000 shots. Here’s what the numbers say about Odyssey.
How all six Odyssey players performed
PuttView Handicap results are negative – lower is better.

Zero Torque: Where Odyssey Wins
of He-Dual S2S #7 ranked first among 26 zero-torque gauges with an HCP PV of -8.1 and a production rate of 48.9 percent. That puts it ahead of every zero-torque machine we tested this year.
of S2S Tri-Hot Jailbird wasn’t far behind in sixth place, posting a 48.0 percent win rate and some of the narrowest driving numbers in the category.
If you’ve been thinking about making the move to zero torque, the S2S line gives you a solid entry point backed by real numbers. of He-Dual S2S #7 was the best short-range shooter in the category and posted the strongest long-range score among all six Odyssey models we tested. For a long-range shooter, here’s what the data shows.

Blade movers fell in the middle of the pack
Honestly, on the whole, Putt View’s results for blade putters weren’t as strong as they were for hammers and zero torque.
of AI-Dual DW AND AI-Dual #1 landed 16th and 17th out of 24 javelin throwers.
of DW The +6.4 mid-range score was the worst mid-range score in the entire blade category. of #1 was more consistent over distances, but still produced a 41.5 percent win rate in a category where top performers hit 44 percent and above.
If you like blade throws and need help with shorter throws, AI-Dual DW has a short-range score that holds up quite well in the field. Just don’t expect the same from mid-level and beyond.
Odysseusey mallets didn’t have their best year
#7 1/2 Ball finished 28th out of 29 hammer blows. A PuttView handicap of -1.1, a production rate of 39.5 percent, and a long shot of -3.4 that was far and away the worst in the field. of Jailbird Mini 1/2 Top fared better, but still ranked 20th with a positive mid-range score.
The hammer category was run by Bettinard’s BB 6.0 AND BB 7.0both of which posted rates above 45 percent. The gap between these models and Odyssey hammers is huge.
If you’re already a hammer thrower, you’re halfway there. Zero-torque models are the next logical step, and the data gives you every reason to make the move.
