A few years ago, few golfers had even heard of it PAYNTR.
Today, the company has become one of the fastest-growing brands in golf footwear, driven by strong performances in independent testing, increased visibility across the game and a growing list of tour pros who believe in the brand. Players such as Jason Day, Min Woo Lee, Sam Burns and Justin Rose have helped PAYNTR in golf raar while repeated appearances in MyGolfSpy’s testing and coverage amplified the conversation.
The real question is whether the same shoes trusted by elite players can deliver for everyday players.
This is where the MyGolfSpy Forum comes in.
Five members recently spent several weeks testing it PAYNTR Reserve Classic Tour RS under real world conditions. Collectively, they logged more than 100 miles on golf courses, steady rain, mud, summer heat, distance sessions, travel golf and dozens of rounds.
The result was not unanimous.
It was something better.
He was sincere.
EasyPutter: The Reluctant Believer
If there was one tester least likely to give unreserved praise, it was the EasyPutter.
In fact, he admitted as much at the beginning of his review.
“I don’t like a test where I can’t point out something is missing, could be better, or something happened that the OEM should know about.”
And yet after 23 days, 10 rounds of golf and countless hours wearing the shoes on and off the course, he found himself in unfamiliar territory.
“The fit is exceptional to feel roomy without any hint of slipping on my feet.”
It still tells me:
“If I hadn’t known better, I would have thought the shoe was made for my foot.”
During testing, the EasyPutter encountered wet roads, muddy conditions, sand, steep slopes and long days on foot. Shoes are constantly being delivered.
“The shoe stayed dry inside despite many days of wet play.”
And:
“The grip and handling on the slopes was excellent.”
Perhaps the highest compliment he could pay was the simplest.
“The shoe is comfortable enough to forget you’re on your feet.”
By the end of the test, the reviewer who actively looks for flaws found himself struggling to identify one.
“Good – Everything is good is not a good answer, but it is my honest answer.”
His conclusion left little room for interpretation.
“Buy these shoes for your next pair of golf shoes.”
Neb: Putting Them Through the Wringer
If EasyPutter provided the emotional story, Neb provided the data.
During the review period, Neb logged approximately 30 hours in the shoe over six range sessions, six rounds and more than 22 miles on foot. His first impression proved prophetic.
“The leather used is soft and supple and hints that there won’t be an extended period break.”
Weeks later, his assessment had not changed.
“The comfort of the sole remains like the first time I put the shoes on.”
Like several testers, Neb appreciated the balance between waterproof protection and breathability.
“I have no breathability concerns as the shoes didn’t leave me with sweaty feet.”
When the rain came, the shoes continued to impress.
“Despite walking through a lot of standing water, my feet were as warm and dry as when the round started.”
The strongest support came when Neb tried to summarize the experience on the course.
“The best compliment I can pay these shoes, course-wise, is that I rarely notice I’m wearing them.”
His final verdict?
“These shoes are going to be my go-to golf spikes moving forward. They are phenomenal.”
MGoBlue100: Honest Counterpoint
One of the strengths of Forum Member Testing is that not every golfer experiences equipment the same way. The MGoBlue100 offered just that perspective. His test began with a golf trip to Ireland, where he walked five consecutive rounds totaling more than 40 miles.
This is a demanding break-in process for any golf shoe.
The positives appeared immediately.
“The traction and durability of the shoe is top notch.”
And:
“From a playability standpoint, these are on par with any golf shoe on the market.”
He also praised the shoe’s breathability and lightweight construction.
“With all the walking, I never felt like I was wearing boots or heavy shoes.”
But unlike other testers, fit became a problem.
As a golfer with a particularly narrow foot, he struggled with the shape of the shoes.
“Evil is convenient, at least for me.”
However, even as the lowest scorer in the group, he consistently appreciated the overall quality.
“This is a really good spiked golf shoe.”
And perhaps the most balanced conclusion of the whole test:
“I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in any way. You just can’t be blown away.”
Not every shoe fits every golfer. This is exactly the kind of honest feedback that makes testing the Forum worthwhile.
Few endorsements carry more weight than changing a golfer’s habits. Swing Pastor entered the trial as a longtime FootJoy loyalist. In the end, that loyalty had changed. After more than 60 hours of wear, four laps and multiple hikes, his conclusion was clear.
“I can honestly say these are the best shoes I’ve ever worn.”
The premium feel was immediately noticeable.
“Premium feel, nice firm sole, easy to pull laces, feels like a much more expensive shoe.”
Durability impressed him just as much.
“After a tough two weeks, I can barely tell they’re worn.”
And:
“They are still very strong and durable and have kept their shape.”
Style won it too.
“Modern but with a classic touch.”
But perhaps the most revealing quote came when he compared PAYNTR directly to the shoes he had trusted for years.
“I’ve been a FJ boy since I was young.”
Not anymore.
“These are my visits now.”
For players familiar with the premium footwear market, this comparison stood out.
“I spend $250 on FJ Classics and these are a much better shoe for my money.”
ATX Gear Nerd: Looking to the Future
Every test suite seems to have a hardware junkie. For this test, that golfer was the ATX Gear Nerd. As someone who admits to being obsessed with golf equipment and shoes, his praise carried considerable weight.
He immediately appreciated the details.
“They are very nice shoes.”
And:
“The skin is extremely soft and they don’t wait long if it needs to go in.”
Like the MGoBlue100, it featured a wider toe box.
“The toe box is a little too wide for me.”
But unlike many shoes that sacrifice safety for room, the Payntr managed to keep the foot in place.
“Payntr absolutely nailed the heel shape.”
Performance remained a constant theme throughout his review.
“These just don’t slide off, ever.”
And after testing them in the rain, heat, hiking and cycling:
“Honestly, hard to beat.”
Then came perhaps the strongest statement of the entire test.
“These are special shoes.”
Immediately followed by:
“I honestly think Payntr will set the standard for golf shoes moving forward.”
His buy recommendation couldn’t be clearer.
“If you need (or want) new shoes I would 10000% recommend these.”
And at the end:
“Don’t look at any other shoes and just buy these.”
The bigger picture
The purpose of Forum Member Testing is not to create marketing copy. It’s about finding out what happens when real players spend real time with real products. In this case, five golfers arrived with different expectations, different swing styles, different foot shapes and different shoe preferences.
One was converted by FootJoy.
One called them “phenomenal.”
One believes PAYNTR may set the next standard for golf shoes.
And even the toughest student in the bunch still called them a really good golf shoe.
For a company that barely registered on most golfers’ radars a few years ago, PAYNTR it is now in an extraordinary situation. More importantly, it’s a reminder that their rise isn’t just being driven by tournament players. It is aimed at golfers who try on the shoes and don’t want to take them off.
