Dana White had an opportunity to speculate about Tyson Fury’s involvement Zuffa Boxing. Instead, he suggested that an announcement would be possible.
Fury attended White’s latest UFC event, where the UFC president was asked directly if the former heavyweight champion had signed with his new boxing venture. Rather than deny it, White hinted that an announcement could be coming soon.
“We’ll be making an announcement soon,” White said. “Listen, let me repeat: judge me on January 1, 2027, on what we’ve done with boxing this year. All these other guys who talk a lot. I haven’t said anything about any of these guys, I haven’t said anything about anybody or any of that stuff. I’m in my lane, I’m doing my thing and we’ll make sure soon.”
White’s comments came after Fury had already teased that the UFC boss had a “massive” announcement involving him, with Fury suggesting White should be the one to reveal the details.
When asked separately about signing with White, Fury gave a similarly cryptic answer, refusing to give a definitive answer while not dismissing the reports outright.
The exchange only fueled speculation that Fury could play a major role in Zuffa Boxing’s plans moving forward. White has repeatedly stated that he intends to make a significant impact in the sport this year, and Fury’s appearance at the event ensured that boxing became one of the evening’s biggest talking points.
For now, there is no official confirmation that Fury has signed with Zuffa Boxing. However, White had several opportunities to deny the possibility and chose not to.
Fury is expected to return later this year in what has been described as a busy fight ahead of a possible showdown with Anthony Joshua. While a Joshua fight has yet to be formally announced, it remains one of the biggest draws available in boxing.
