COLSHAW HALL 10km, Knutsford, Cheshire, June 14
Again the Cheshire course yielded fast times and in good conditions Omah Ahmed saw off the challenge of Jonny Mellor to win by nine seconds in 29:18.
It was the Ethiopian’s third outright victory in May and followed his Great Birmingham Half win and fourth of the year.
Mellor is approaching veteran status and this was the Liverpool Harrier’s first outing this year, but followed up three Cheshire 10km wins in 2025.
There were good performances up through the age groups and in particular Mike Wyatt’s 34:46 to lead the under 60’s to seven under 40 minutes. The time was the 63-year-old’s fastest since 2009, after which the former Garstang runner was out for several years before returning in 2015.
For the women, Louise Small took another road race win by more than two minutes from Aldershot team-mate Harriet Priddy in a lifetime best of 32:36.
It’s been eight years since the now 34-year-old set his previous best of 33:20 and follows up with recent road race victories and personal bests in the 5km and half marathon.
