Pedro Acosta has issued an update on his predictions for the 2026 MotoGP title, with the KTM ace expecting ‘it’s only a matter of time’ before one of Marc Marquez’s main rivals lays down the gauntlet.

“I’d say Martin at the moment,” replied the 21-year-old, before adding, “He’s been taking it easy, he hasn’t come to the first test of the year, but he’s already taken back-to-back wins at Le Mans.”
“(At Barcelona) he seemed to struggle a lot but he was still ready to win. At the moment, Martin may not be at his best because of his injury, so I’d say he’s probably not 100%.”

“What makes it more difficult is his recovery, I would say X seconds, on the bike he was riding. Now, with his personal performance, he seems to be at the same level as when he was champion with Ducati.”
Martin currently sits 20 points behind Bezecchi following a double DNF for the factory Aprilia outfit after going into turn one at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
With 14 rounds to go, it’s clear that the 2026 MotoGP title race is still wide open.
