When to FootJoy Pro/SL won ours 2026 Spikeless Men’s Shoe TestI was waiting for the women’s version to come out.
I’ve been testing a lot of women’s golf shoes this year and spikeless shoes have been a big part of that. Some are more streetwear inspired. Others look good but feel a little too random when you start swinging.
of FootJoy Women’s Pro/SL it felt different.
After five rounds of golf and quite a few practice sessions, this is what stood out.

The closest shoe without spikes to a shoe with spikes
The biggest thing for me was the attraction.
I knew Pro/SL it was studless, but halfway through one of my rounds, I checked the bottom of the shoe just to make sure. That’s all he had caught.
This is the closest a non-studded shoe is to a studded shoe I tested this year. It felt stable on full swings, uneven lies and even when the terrain was a little soft. There was none of that subtle slipping or shifting that can happen with some spikeless golf shoes.
FootJoy uses its ARCTrax/SL outsole technology in this shoe and does exactly what a performance studless outsole should do. You get the comfort of no studs without feeling like you’ve given up traction.
Comfortable but not too soft
FootJoy calls the cushioning at Pro/SL moderate and I would agree with that.
This is not a super soft, cushion-like golf shoe. It has a bit of consistency which I like. It gives the shoe a more grounded feel and I think that matters if you care about stability through the swing.
I would have no problem walking 18 holes in these. They were comfortable for me through five rounds and several practice sessions, and I never felt like I was wearing a shoe that was built just for cart golf.
A convenient note to keep in mind
of Women’s Pro/SL Shoes felt a little tight for me.
It wasn’t uncomfortable, but if you usually need extra space in the front, this is something to look out for. FootJoy offers medium and wide widths, so I’d consider the wide if you’re between sizes or usually feel cramped in more athletic-style shoes.

Performance without the bulk
I tested the Arctic White/Glacier Steel Blue pair and really liked the look.
It has the technology and texture I want in a performance golf shoe, but doesn’t feel heavy. This is not always easy to find in women’s golf shoes. Some performance models can feel a bit heavy and some of the sleeker styles don’t always give you enough support.
of Pro/SL it sits in a good middle ground.
Final thoughts
This is the first performance golf shoe without spikes. It has the traction, stability and comfort to work for hiking, practice sessions and serious golf. If you want a studless shoe that still feels close to a studded model, this is one of the best women’s options I’ve tested in 2026.
