Speaking on Oxley good podcast, Peter Bohm praised Marc Marquez’s performance in Hungary, admitting it was close to his best for the first time in ages.
However, at the end of the week it became clear that Marquez is not pushing his shoulder that much, because he is still not back to 100%.
“It was just at Le Mans, the first time we saw him qualify for the real marque. He learned from his mistakes. This weekend, we saw him again. Mugello, calm down, hurt his limitations, and he played a lot there…
It’s a joy to see him. But I have bad news… he’s not even 100% full – he’s more or less putting it together as far as he knows. No risk, no crossing the bike, the bike won’t slide.
“He’s not missing the line and he’s still working. He’s not holding on to his elbow when he needs to at the start of qualifying…
“Immediately he let the bike fall because (his right shoulder can’t have it yet) this arm is probably 70%.
“That right shoulder, you see it all the time. He doesn’t need it on the handle. It’s not right on the handle after you’re done. He has it on the tank, he waves it to the crowd…”

Speaking further on the podcast, Bohm praised how Marquez and his future Ducati team-mate Pedro Acosta battled and still pushed each other.
“It’s still not good, but it’s good enough, and we’ll taste what’s going to happen with Acosta. This was a good thing we saw today, it was beautiful when they fought each other, there’s a lot of respect. They know what’s going to happen, they know they’re going to touch.
“They know, ‘Yeah, I’m a little off the grass, but he’s not really going to put me on the grass. I just have to shut up, then I’m not on the grass.’ It’s beautiful. Great, can’t wait for next year to see it on the Ducati.
As it prepares to move in 2027, Acosta will lose a big KTM issue with DucatiBecause he will have a very reliable bike next year.
Acosta learned a lot about Marquez in Hungary.He’ll be bumping into his future teammate every weekend.
And with both riders set to be teammates next season, we could see both Ducati factory bikes go head-to-head in 2027.
