Roman Revenge! – runblogrun

Roman Revenge!

In 55 BC Julius Caesar and: Romans came to Britain and their influence persists to this day, at least 40 cities (Manchester, Bath, Exeter, Winchester, Canterbury, etc.) trace their origins to the Roman period. This week the Britons invaded Rome and left with spoils and victories Georgia Hunter-Bell and: Molly Cooder.

Molly Cooder, who retained his Polish indoor title in Poland earlier this year, won the tournament again Golden Gala, Diamond League of Rome. Top three Cowdery, Nina Kennedy, and Angelica Moser all cleared 4.80. Cowdery, the leader on the countback, went 4.85 and when Kennedy and Moser failed, the win was his.

Cowdery, who is trained by his dad and Scott Simpson, “I had a short approach with 10 steps. I had a great indoor season and sometimes you need to take a deep breath, it’s a journey. I think it was a smart move to skip 4.85 since I just got back. Rabat, there was a bit of risk and I wanted to relax, not stress my body. Having and competing in home championships Diamond League are extremely important to me. It is wonderful to attract a crowd. I take everything here, including the 12x200m relay.”

Georgia Hunter-Bell, who also won the World Indoors earlier this year, ran the 1500m in 3:58.63 in Rome. Then he said: “Last lap was fast, today was difficult. I need evidence to gain confidence. I’m really happy, I’m happy with how I ran the race. You have to be on your A-game in every race. The third period was slow tonight. In the 1500m, anything can go either way, it’s so exciting to be ready for the 1500m.”

He said about his summer plans. “It’s going to be hard to go both ways Cooperation games and: European championships. I’d rather win one, so I’ll probably stick to just one championship. Also, I would like to be first in the Diamond League Finals, as I was second last year. I want to get my win there.”
