Pramac team manager Gino Borsoy is very happy with what he saw from rider Toprak Razgatlioglu on a promising first day of practice at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix.
The 29-year-old was Yamaha’s best rider in FP1, edging career star Fabio Quatararo by 0.051s for P10 and P11. Razgatlioglu In the first session at Balaton Park, he set the fastest lap time of 1:39.398, just 0.030s off Aprilia’s Marco Bezecchi.
Razgatlioglu threatened to be the best Yamaha rider in the pre-qualifying practice session at the Hungarian GP. rather than Pramak Team mate Jack Miller took that honor as the Australian set the 10th best time to edge out Catararo in P11 and Razgatlioglu in P12.

Razgatlioglu was just 0.165s slower than Miller and 0.054s slower than Quattararo to be the best Yamaha rider and qualify for the race in Q2. Hungarian GP. His pace earlier in the session proved very promising even for Sunday’s race.

Pramac Group Manager Borsoy He was particularly pleased with what he saw from Razgatlioglu in FP1 and early practice at the Hungarian GP. Borsoy feels the Turkish racer’s driving style is key to showing off the fast pace, as the stopping nature of Balaton Park is “perfect”.
“It was a good Friday for him and the team, especially Toprak was always close to the top 10, and this is good news for us,” said Borsoy. TNT Sports 2 (05/06, 14:31).
“To be honest, it’s a track that no one has a lot of information on, so we’re almost starting from scratch.
“Let’s just say he has the perfect riding style for this kind of track – he’s a rider who likes to brake very late and deep. So it’s the right track and position for Toprac.”

Balaton Park is widely disliked by MotoGP riders, but Razgatlioglu says it is his “favourite” circuit after dominating the World Superbike Championship last July. On the back of taking pole position, Razgatlioglu won all three WSBK races in Hungary last year.
The three-time World Superbike champion looks back on his BMW year at Balaton Park. Razgatlioglu is aiming for the top 10 in MotoGP’s Hungarian GP.. It may not have looked like much earlier in practice, but his pace throughout Friday was very encouraging.
Friday was not perfect for Razgatlioglu as the Pramac pilot had an early incident with Ai Ogura in FP1. Razgatlioglu hit Ogura from behind in FP1 at Balaton Park It seems to miscalculate the competitor’s braking point.
Razgatlioglu will hope to recover from his mistake and emerge as Yamaha’s best rider for more time, and his promise to qualify will continue and he can join Pramac team-mate Miller in Q2 at the Hungarian GP. After the first seven MotoGP races, he has yet to make it past Q1.
