LAB Golf’s pretty new VZN.1i continues a recent trend for their paws that I do not support.
No, I’m not talking about precision craftsmanship or the lie angle balancing process. I definitely support it LAB Golf’s continuous engagement in both these areas.
I also support their fearless drive to innovate. As with me OZ.1i HS and both new Link. 2 modelsthis new one VZN.1 shooter shows that LAB Golf is not a shooting company that rests on its laurels.
All of these things are good things. It’s the things that have forced other companies to step in and, ultimately, follow Golf LAB in the zero torque machine market.
(Remember, Lie Angle Balancing doesn’t actually make LAB gear zero torque.)
Bees flew to my cover when I saw that the new one VZN.1i it seemed more normal than I expected. In my mind, LAB shooters should look weird. For a long time, LAB Golf embraced a F*** look, take a shot attitude
(That’s not an official LAB Golf slogan, by the way. But maybe it should be.)
Is the VZN.1i LAB Golf brilliant?
We are looking at the floodgates Golf LAB has been released in the past year, their appearance has changed from a foreign art class girl to a glamorous prom girl.
Of course, DF3i still had the unusual original DF3 form but the aforementioned OZ.1i HS AND Link. 2 models looked extremely normal when they entered the dance on the arm of Freddy Prince Jr.
Misplaced tangent aside, the LAB Golf VZN.1i shows customers and competitors that LAB can incorporate their game-changing Lie Angle Balance design into more traditional-looking barrels.
This should make customers excited and competitors nervous.
The new LAB Golf VZN.1 is all about looks
The lies I tell! Of course, of course VZN.1i it’s about making paws. I don’t see LAB Golf ever deviating from that central dogma. Their shooters are for shooting.
The “insight” I was referring to above is the emphasis that LAB Golf has placed on “optimizing the alignment”.
of VZN.1i it was designed so that the lines of the shooter’s body helped with aiming. While you may not immediately see this in the overall shape of the diamond, look a little closer and you will see the visual plan.
The angles of the perimeter of the front side of the paw draw the eye to the front edge. To my eye, this reduces the overall profile of the gauge to the width of the face. I don’t recall ever seeing the corners of the toes or heels when using the barrel.
My eyes stayed in the center of my head.
Once you focus on the center, you will see that the equatorial region of the thrower is a rectangle that runs from the face to the back.
of VZN.1i I tested there were sight lines at the edges of the cavity, but they just emphasize the straight lines of the body.
In general, the contours of VZN1.i are there to help you aim.
VZN.1i versus DF3
When you compare VZN.1i THE DF3the impact of body shape on targeting becomes even more apparent.
As much as I want My custom DF3only the face really shows the target. The hole in the back also helps, but the tire edges are pointed in multiple directions.

If you remember your trigonometry, you know that you can draw infinite tangent lines from the edge of a curve. Even if math wasn’t your forte, you’ll probably agree that endless aiming paths aren’t a shot-making recipe.
of VZN.1i there’s more of a “hey guys we’re going this way” body plan. Side by side, the VZN.1i is far more effective at guiding your eyes to the target than it is DF3.
For mine DF3 over the years, the effectiveness of the aim was largely related to the alignment scheme I chose. For him VZN.1iI don’t believe the lines added to the booster will be that impactful.
Even without additional lines, VZN.1i point on target.
On the course with LAB Golf VZN.1i
As often happens, I got it VZN.1i direct from FedEx to the first tee. Sometimes, this is a recipe for disaster. Since I have played many rounds with the LAB Golf players, I had a feeling that I would be very comfortable with the VZN.1i.
“Comfort” was a perfect description of my experience.
Every once in a while, I have to spend some time with a new shooter to adjust to what the shooter is all about. This was not the case with VZN.1i.
During that first round, it felt like I had already played several rounds of shooters.
In all new putter situations, I recommend some practice green time before playing.
Don’t be like Dave. Take the time to call it out, especially young people LAB pretty golf.
It is not unusual for there to be a period of downtime while the player becomes comfortable with the feel and torque of the LAB shooter.
Thankfully, I didn’t need a rest period. I’m not saying I did everything. What I’m saying is that the mistakes came from “random rounds” misreads, not mishits. Even then, the errors were usually very close.
Also, it’s worth noting that the insert feels different. Although difficult to quantify, I found that the stainless steel insert on the VZN.1i feels better at impact than the same stainless steel insert in the DF3i OR OZ.1i.
The feel is a little softer and the tone nicer.
A final observation: After rotating the VZN.1i head to head with mine DF3I knew it was a change I was going to make. OK, two if you include the obligatory green to purple color change.
of VZN.1i is available in both zero-degree and 1.5-degree shaft configurations. Mine DF3 it has the lean front axle and i think i prefer it.
Would I place an order? VZN.1i down the road (forewarning?), I’d add forward tilt and a 1.5 degree press grip.

Do you think the land gets further and further away as the round progresses? Does it take more effort to bend to get the ball off the green than to hit the ball?

Not only is the back of the shooter better than the punk kid at Baskin-Robbins, but the square hole in the head allows for VZN.1i get the ball too.
You’ll never have to bend over to take a shot again. Golf LAB VZN.1i it brings relief, in abundance, to your back.
Is the VZN.1i the best LAB golf putter ever?
One of the guys in the shop called me VZN.1i “Green Goblin” and now I can’t see it. I’d like to tell you that it’s Willem Dafoe speaking to me now, but I’m not hearing what Mr. Osborn is saying anyway.

As I said before, LAB Golf VZN.1i should concern other companies. The small company outside Eugene, Ore., that started a drilling revolution isn’t going away anytime soon.
of VZN.1i is the best LAB golfer to date. I will say this on the official record without hesitation. I see this shooter as more of a game changer for LAB than for LAB DF3.
The prices of LAB machines have remained the same, but have also become competitive. Shares VZN.1i it’s $499 with custom models starting at $599. Not too long ago, this price point would have been seen as more expensive than LAB Golf’s competitors.
Now many of the OEM zero torque bearings are priced the same as LAB shooters. Because of this, the choice has become buying an OEM device off the shelf or ordering a LAB device that fits your specifications.
Don’t forget this Golf LAB provides free (and accurate) video tools for length and angle of alignment. If you can get a LAB Golf VZN.1i assembled for the same price as a big name brand, I’d say that’s a good sign for LAB Golf.
