George Martin is seen changing his mind at the Aprilia team’s orders after their impressive performance at the Italian Grand Prix.

Martin also said he had ‘something more’ but failed to show it on the track despite breaking the top speed record.

The Spaniard added: “I had more but I couldn’t try. The truth is there were a lot of fast riders today, there were six or seven of us sitting on the pole.”

“I knew I had more, but I just couldn’t try it. We were all trying to get busy with each other and it was just a mess.”

As for the speed record, Martin said it could be broken again for the rest of the Italian GP weekend.

The Aprilia star said: “I’m happy with this, we set the all-time top speed record, which makes me very happy because I’m the fastest rider in history so far.

“When you get off the bike, you can’t see anything, you just see blurs. But I came out of the last corner really well, I controlled the wheelie on the curb there, and on top of that, I was behind two riders, it was amazing.

“It could fall in the race, maybe if a lot of riders slip, but we’ve already done it.”
