Celestino Vitetti led Moto2 World Championship practice on Friday afternoon at the Autodromo Internacional del Mugello, Italy. Riding his MB Conveyors SpeedRS Team Boscoscuro on Pirelli Control tires, the Italian rider lapped the 3.26-mile (5.25 km) course in 1:49.420 to top 27 riders, breaking Diogo Morera’s all-time lap record of 1:49.725.255.
Izan Guevara was second best on his BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Boscoscuro with a time of 1:49.431.
Manuel González was third fastest with a 1:49.530 on the LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Inact GP Kalex.
American Joe Roberts finished Friday afternoon’s practice in 14th place with a best time of 1:50.381, the sole supporter of American Racing Team Calex.

Vetti flew to Mugello to receive Friday’s honor. For the second time in the year Racing at home for the first time in 2026, the #13 has succeeded in its strong Barcelona position.
Vietti was once again dominant on Friday as he set the fastest lap time in 14 of the 16 laps, a Boscoscuro 1-2 with Izan Guevara (BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2) showing his strength just 0.011 seconds off his fellow Catalan GP podium finisher. Championship leader and Catalan GP winner Manuel González (LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP) was strong in third as just 0.110s covered the top three.
By the end of practice, Filipe Salach (Enthusiasts USA Racing Team) was in a strong fourth place, while Alonso Lopez (ITALJET Gresini Moto2) continued his strong form of late to complete the top five on Friday. In another outstanding performance, Alex Eskrig (KLINT Racing Team) was sixth.
Big names that missed the automatic Q2 cut included Daniel Holgado (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) who, despite his best efforts, could only manage 15th place.
