It’s been a big run for PGA Tour purses over the past few weeks, with two live Signature Events leading up to the second major of the year, the PGA Championship.
That makes this week’s Byron Nelson CJ Cup the first “regular” tournament on the schedule since the Zurich Classic. And while there isn’t a super big payout for Sunday’s abduction at TPC Craig Ranchthere’s still a big winner’s check waiting for the winner on Sunday night.
The stage is set for some nice drama in the final round as well.
Si Woo Kim’s five-stroke lead through 36 holes has been cut to just two with one round remaining. His closest followers: the defending champion Scottie Scheffler and 2023 US Open winner Wyndham Clark, who are just two shots back. A total of six players are within five shots of Kim’s lead. Kim hasn’t won a PGA Tour event since the 2023 Sony Open, while Clark’s last victory was the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
As for Scheffler, he is looking for his second win of the season – and the 21st of his career – after finishing runner-up three times in his last four tournaments.
Byron Nelson’s 2026 CJ Cup total purse is 10.3 million dollarswith 1.854 million dollars designated for champion.
The second place winner will also clear seven figures, with a payout of 1.122 million dollars. So settle in for an epic Memorial Day weekend on Sunday, where some intriguing on-course action awaits. Click here for all the details on how to watch the tournament final.
