Jones boxed sharply in the opening round and finished it off with a heavy flurry that immediately put Gualtieri on the defensive. Midway through the third, Jones landed a right hand to the chin that sent Gualtieri to his knees through the ropes for an eight count.
Moments later, Jones attacked again and landed a right uppercut, followed by a left hook as Gualtieri collapsed for the second time. Collantes immediately stepped in to stop the fight.
In the co-feature, Robin Safar remained undefeated with a split decision win over Yamil Peralta to capture the WBC Silver cruiserweight title.
Safar controlled much of the opening round by consistently backing Peralta, but Peralta answered in the second with a lead right hand that dropped Safar for an eight count. Safar recovered well and started to take over again in the middle rounds, getting the cleaner shots and controlling the pace.
