
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) kept their play-off hopes alive with a decisive four-wicket win Mumbai Indians (MI) In the 65th match Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at Eden Gardens. Chasing a target of 148, KKR put in a composed batting effort and managed just two crucial runs in 18.5 overs.
KKR bowlers restrict Mumbai Indians to 147
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a great start with the ball. Ryan Rickelton while he was dismissed for just six runs Rohit SharmaA promising innings was cut short after hitting two sixes for 15 runs. Rovman Powell played the perfect supporting role and stepped up at the right time for the hosts. He smashed 40 runs off 30 balls, hitting four boundaries and two sixes to put West Indies in a tight control over battered KKR.
Bosch tried to drag Mumbai Indians back into the contest with a brilliant three-goal spell, dismissing both Pandey and Powell. However, Rinku Singh’s quick cameo and quiet finishing touches Tejaswi Dahiya and Anukul Roy Kolkata crossed the finish line with seven balls to spare.
