Daniel Medvedev? Call him Mr. Consistency. Or Mr. Top 10…
The Russian may not have won a major title this year, but he nevertheless achieved a milestone in the rankings this week, reaching 250 weeks inside the Top 10. Medvedev, who dropped out of the Top 10 in January last year for four weeks, recovered. quickly and has since spent another 87 consecutive weeks inside the Top 10.
The fifth-ranked 28-year-old reached 250 on Monday.
Of those 250 weeks, 16 were spent at No. 1, with 228 of the 250 spent inside the Top 5 (per tennis.com).

Machac debuts in the Top 25
Tomas Machac reached his first Masters semi-final last week in Shanghai before bowing out to eventual champion Jannik Sinner. For his efforts, the 24-year-old jumps eight spots to a career-high ranking of 25. It has been a stellar season for Machac, who won Olympic mixed doubles gold with Katerina Siniakova. He also reached the second week of a major for the first time at this year’s US Open and played his first ATP final on clay in Geneva this spring.
Shang Hits Top 50
of China Shang Juncheng becomes the first player born in 2005 or later to break the Top 50 after breaking the Top 50. The 19-year-old, who won the maiden title in Chengdu last month, jumps to No. 49 after a second-round appearance in Shanghai Masters.
Mensik, Goffin, Close Top 50
Another 19-year-old, Jakub Mensikjumped 14 spots from No.65 to No.51 on Monday after reaching his first Masters quarter-final in Shanghai.
Mensik fell to Novak Djokovic in three sets.
of Belgium David Goffin is also on the rise this week. The former World No. 7 also reached the quarterfinals in Shanghai, thanks to victories over Lorenzo Musetti and Alexander Zverev. It was the Belgian’s first Masters quarter-final since 2021 and first on a tough course since 2019. Goffin jumps 13 spots to No. 53 this week.
