Paris FC stunned PSG with a dramatic 2-1 win at the Stade Jean Bouin, with Alimami Gory’s stoppage-time winner ending the champions’ perfect record in a thrilling Paris derby.

Paris Saint Germain arrived at the Stade Jean Bouin as the runaway leaders of Ligue 1, sitting at the top of the table with 79 points from 34 games. The reigning champions boasted an impressive record of 25 wins, four draws and just five defeats. Meanwhile, Paris FC were in 11th place with 41 points, struggling with inconsistent form. Few expected the underdogs to upset the dominant PSG team.

The game started with PSG controlling possession, as expected from the league leaders. The visitors dominated possession in the early stages, keeping Paris FC contained in their own half. Despite their territorial advantage, PSG struggled to create clear-cut chances against a well-organised home defence.

Barcola broke the deadlock in the 50th minute, firing PSG ahead with a clinical finish. The visiting team looked set to win with their superior experience and quality. PSG’s 90 percent passing accuracy showed their control, while they attempted 16 shots compared to Paris FC’s eight.

However, Paris FC refused to give up. Alimami Gory emerged as the home side’s unlikely hero, scoring twice to turn the game around. Gory first equalized in the 76th minute with a well-worked finish.

The tension grew as the game entered stoppage time. Gory struck again in the 90+4th minute, sending the Stade Jean Bouin crowd into raptures. His second goal proved decisive, giving Paris FC an unlikely victory against the odds.

PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov made seven saves but was unable to avoid defeat. Gory’s performance was transformative after coming off the bench, registering two shots on goal in his limited minutes. Paris FC’s Pierre Lees Melou provided crucial support with three key assists throughout the contest.

The stats revealed PSG’s dominance in possession and chance creation. The champions had 63 percent possession and generated 0.61 expected goals. Paris FC’s expected 0.37 goals shortfall made their win all the more remarkable. The home team managed only two shots on goal, but converted both of Gory’s chances.

PSG’s unbeaten run suffered a major blow with this defeat. The defeat leaves the champions still top but vulnerable heading into the final stages of the season. Paris FC’s impressive comeback offers hope for their fight against relegation.
