Pedro Acosta has criticized the decision to restart the Catalan Grand Prix after two red flag stops.
Acosta Alex Marquez was involved in the first incident as he experienced a sudden loss of power. The Gresini rider will undergo surgery after breaking his collarbone in a horrific crash on Sunday evening.
The race was still underway when Francesco Bagnaia, Luca Marini and Yohan Zarco got stuck in the first corner, which brought out another red flag. Zarko had to be taken to the hospital Foot and knee injuries.

Polesitter Acosta battled for the lead throughout the race, but fell to fourth before being overtaken by Ai Ogura in the final corner, earning a three-second penalty in the process.

“It’s not easy to come back after a bad situation like today,” Alex said after the crash.
“Also, I think it’s not important after two collisions or two red flags to try a third time. Those things are not really important. The show is important, but we’re the ones who make the show.”

Acosta refused to discuss sports matters, stressing that it was only the health of Marquez and Zarco.
Neither he nor Marquez could get out of the way.
Some observers have called for KTM not to restart because of the possibility of a repeat.
“I don’t want to talk about the race,” Acosta said. Everything that could go wrong today went wrong, it seemed.
“I went straight from throttle to no throttle. Everything was really bad.”
Tech3 rider Ene Bastianini retired with a mechanical failure, while Acosta factory partner Brad Binder had to leave the grid before the first race and join the back of the pack.
