Takomo’s has a brand new bag…

Finnish direct-to-consumer brand Takomo is taking another step in its journey to full-line status.

The company is launching a new one Takomo 02 Stand Bag on her website this week. The name would have you believe it’s the second bag Takomo has ever released. That would be a wrong assumption on your part (as it was mine).

Actually it is the third.

OK, this requires an explanation.

Takomo is nothing if not ambitious. While this can lead to random errorsit gives Takomo its unique atmosphere. The new one Bag for stay 02 is a prime example.

As mentioned, Stand Bag 02 is actually Takomo bag number three. The company’s first bag, called “Pikku”, dates back to its early days in 2022. Pikku is Finnish for “small” which fits as the Pikku bag was a minimalist pencil case.

Takomo’s next bag, launching in mid-2024, was called the Stand Bag 01. It also featured Takomo’s signature “Scandinavian minimalist” design, crafted from premium synthetic leather with carbon fiber legs.

The new Stand 02 bag builds on that design philosophy, but with additional nylon textiles and aluminum legs, instead of carbon fiber.

The new one Takomo 02 Stand Bag fits into the “premium” synthetic leather golf bag category. However, a few things stand out. First off, Takomo isn’t calling it “synthetic” leather. Instead, it’s “vegan” leather. In the big picture, it means the same thing.

Additionally, Takomo has added some nice touches including a magnetic distance measurement pocket, a six-way divider, an insulated cooler pocket and cushion straps to make the bag easier to carry.

Takomo is not listing the weight of the bag on its website but the company says it’s designed for pedestrians. We’ll let you know how pedestrian you need to be when we get one to test.

Additionally, the bag is available in two colors: basic black and white.

Perhaps best of all, in true Takomo tradition, the Stand Bag 02 retails for $279, making it one of the lowest cost synthetics around, I mean Vega leather golf bag going.
