Four limited edition designs land on the Chrome Tour for the PGA Championship at Aronimink: Broad Street, the Liberty Bell, a soft pretzel and Benjamin Franklin.
of Chrome’s major tournament series it goes to the 2026 second round, and this month’s installment goes all Philly. In case you weren’t aware (no judgement), May’s major is the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pa.
Newtown Square is technically a township of Delaware County.
But for the purposes of this golf ball, it’s Philadelphia.

What is in each ball
Four designs, all unmistakably coded by city.
- Broad Street sign
- The Liberty Bell
- A soft pretzel shaped like a thread
- Benjamin Franklin
Instead of sticking to the letter and honoring the reality of Newtown Square’s suburban office park, Callaway played wisely to Philly proper. So we get the Liberty Bell instead of a Wawa logo and Franklin instead of a guy in a polo selling accounting software.
Good call.

Only Chrome Tour, and that’s actually good
No X. No triple diamond. No Chrome Soft. If the core of the Callaway lineup isn’t your player, he is Great series it’s not really for you this month. This is a familiar pattern by now and I would argue that it is the right one. The Chrome Tour is Callaway’s flagship tour ball, and forcing a special run on each model to please collectors is impractical, even if I personally would like to see the Chrome Tour X and Triple Diamond appear a little more often in the limited edition combo.

What is missing?
It’s hard to argue with Callaway’s design choices. Philly is a target-rich environment. Still…
A cheese steak. How does this not exist? If anything is more Philly than a soft pretzel, it’s a cheesesteak. The compromise writes itself: pretzels on one side, cheese on the other. You’re welcome, Callaway.
“Fro Knows Photo” guy (Jared Polin) instead of Franklin. listen to me Polin is a Philly native and arguably the most popular head of hair within the city limits. Franklin is already on the $100 bill and approximately 14 statues. Give someone else a chance.
And while I can’t be 100 percent sure it’s missing (maybe Callaway made the run and just isn’t telling us), where are Allen Iverson’s special edition balls for the range and short game? We’re talking practice, man.
