Tyson Fury plans warm-up fight before Anthony Joshua clash

The heavyweight clash has been discussed for years, but Brown indicated more steps may still be needed before it becomes official.

Brown said Fury’s recent return after a long absence meant another outing could come first before a fight with Joshua later this year. Fury defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov in his comeback match after spending an extended period out of the ring.

“We’ll probably want another fight before the AJ fight, a proper warm-up, and then we’re ready to go. We’re signed. We’re ready to rock and roll,” Brown said on Instagram.

Brown also said Fury’s broadcast tapes could become part of the final deal, hinting at an existing relationship with Netflix. Fury recently appeared on the platform through At Home with the Furys, while his comeback match was also carried there.

“We have an exclusive partnership with Netflix, and as you can see, Tyson is doing ‘At Home with the Furys’. His last fight was done by Netflix, and I would think all of his fights are done by Netflix,” Brown said.

Brown said he was unsure if DAZN would be involved if Fury and Joshua went ahead.

“We’re just waiting for Anthony to sign and Eddie Hearn to sign. Will it be with DAZN. I have no clue if DAZN will be a part of it. I have no clue. We’ll wait and see. We’re ready to go,” Brown said.

Joshua is scheduled to return on July 25 against Kristian Prenga in Riyadh. If both sides complete their plans, the long-delayed British heavyweight fight could still land later this year.
