Denim, cowhide and a sheriff’s badge. The Chevron Championship just got its TaylorMade treatment.
Worth noting: for at least the second year in a row, TaylorMade has made it a point to deliver the women’s season opener the same treatment as that of men. The same scope, the same effort, the same attention to local detail. More brands should take note.

The centerpiece is a denim-based staff bag wrapped in genuine cowhide accents with antique brass hardware throughout: chains, clasps, rings and lockets, all in warm tones to complete the color story. Black and white round out the palette.
Details earn their points. A sheriff’s badge on the valuables pocket nods to the law of the land. A cowhide skull on the back pays tribute to the cattle show that put Houston on the map. A rope wraps the base, a subtle nod to rodeo culture. TaylorMade script is rendered in raised 3D chain stitch on both side panels.

The best touch is on the inside. The lineup features a printed map of 12 legendary Trail Ride routes—the trails riders take to Houston each year for the rodeo, some covering nearly 200 miles to get there. It’s the kind of hyper-local detail that most bags wouldn’t bother with, and exactly what separates a themed bag from a lazy bum.
Is it a bit over the top? Yes, it is. But yes, I will allow it.

Each cover tells its own chapter of the story.
The driver goes with a full western shirt silhouette with pearl detailing, a Made by Taylor bolo tie and white floral embroidery. The freeway cover is thick cowhide. The hybrid is inspired by the saddle blanket. The blade guard is a workhorse (and will absolutely be the most Instagrammed item in the lineup). The hammer cover keeps things understated: polished brown with classic TaylorMade lettering.
Someone will shake the horse’s hood up to the first peak. More power to them.

conclusion
Without the brand theater of Augusta, TaylorMade has room to back up to Houston and let the details speak for themselves. They do. If any of these stand out to you, don’t sleep on it.
