“Plus I’d look at Marquez’s telemetry once or twice, and I said, ‘That’s not worth it.’ And I started looking at the telemetry of other riders, Joan Mir, more refined, because it didn’t make sense, it was amazing.

Lecuona shared further analysis of Marquez’s data and riding style: “Marquez is brilliant. If you are a good braker, you can match Marquez’s braking power, but you won’t corner like him.”
“He has technique, he knows how to put his weight, which is very important in MotoGP because of the Michelin tires, how he puts his body, his height… everything is possible, all the variables.
But the way he went into the corner, the confidence he got, and how he turned or lifted the bike, he did it all. Then the Honda spins too hard at that point and won’t come out of the corner. But just as he’s cornering and turning, he gets a tenth, two or three, depending on the corner.
