Andrea Hewitt dismisses rumors about Vinod Kambli’s health
Andrea strongly denied claims that Kambli was in a life-threatening condition. Directly addressing the situation, he assured his fans that the former cricketer is stable and not facing any serious health crisis.
“By God’s grace, Vinod is fine. I don’t know who is spreading false information about his health.” he told journalist Vicky Lalvani.
His response comes as a strong counter to recent reports that paint a grim picture of Kambli’s health. Although he admitted that the 54-year-old woman had been facing medical problems in recent years, he emphasized that the current situation was exaggerated. He said Kambli was in no immediate danger and the panic over his condition was largely unfounded.
Andrea’s announcement brought some much-needed relief to fans who were fearing the worst. In an age of information speed, his statement is a reminder of how quickly misinformation can grow, especially when it involves public figures.
Concerns over Kambli’s health have intensified following revelations by his close friend, former first-class umpire Marcus Coutow. Couto revealed that the cricketer has been dealing with a brain clot since he was admitted to a hospital in Thane about 18 months ago.
“Since he was hospitalized in Thane about 18 months ago, Kambli had a clot in his brain. His memory is not good. He remembers things and then forgets them. It’s all because of the clot in his brain.” Kouto said.
He further emphasized that although Kambli has made efforts to improve his lifestyle, such as giving up alcohol, certain habits such as smoking are a concern. The medical advice of neurosurgeon Aadil Cagla, in particular, strongly warned against such applications due to the increased risk of stroke.
Despite these challenges, there are encouraging signs in Kambli’s recovery. Kouto noted that he recently appeared in a commercial and is able to walk with the help of a stick. These updates show that while his journey has not been easy, he continues to make gradual progress.

Among the participants Sachin TendulkarKambli’s childhood friend and one of the most popular faces in cricket. This collective effort highlights the strong bonds within the cricketing fraternity, which Kambli continues to respect despite his struggles.
Kambli’s health problems go back several years. In late 2024, he was hospitalized for a severe urinary tract infection and muscle cramps, during which further medical evaluations revealed brain clots. Earlier, in 2013, he underwent two heart surgeries with Tendulkar’s support.
