In what has become a recurring annual theme, the Masters 2026 bag it is, once again, the greatest it has ever been.
Given the super-huge purses now up for grabs at LIV and every PGA Tour Signature Event, it’s hard to believe that just five years ago, in 2021, the Masters purse was set at $11.5 million. Next year, in 2022, the purse grew dramaticallyto 15 million dollars. Then, the Masters 2023 bag jumped again to a total of $18 million.
But it didn’t stop there. In 2024, an additional $2 million was added to the pot to reach a stunner total purse of $20 million. And last year, the bar went even higher, at an impressive $21 million.
So what happened to this year’s bag? You guessed it. He went upstairs. BACK. The 2026 Masters purse now stands at $22.5 million, an increase of $1.5 million from last year. (The Players Championship remains the richest bag in golf for a total of $25 million.)
This year’s Masters champion will surpass the payout received by 2025 champion Rory McIlroy by $300,000, for a total payday of $4.5 million. The runners-up will receive a prize of $2.43 million, and third and fourth place will also clear seven figures, with a payout of $1.53 and $1.08 million, respectively.
Even the players who missed the cut (of which there were 37) get a payout of $25,000 each (the same amount as last year, which was an increase of $15,000 from previous years) – but that’s only for professionals. So how did the rest of the players get on the field this year? Below you can find a complete list of Masters 2026 payouts for each player.
