The highlight of the evening came in the 9th providing a “heart in mouth” moment for the GT dugout. In 8.2, LSG was struggling to rebuild after losing their top tier. Prasidh KrishnaWith his speed and bounce, the fireman steamed up and hit a hard length on his stumps. Ayush Badonilooking to break the shackles, he tried to pull vigorously. However, there was no time and the ball spun high towards deep midwicket.
It fell silent like a stadium Glenn PhillipsKnown for his cheetah-like agility, the traitor seemed to have lost his ball in the Lucknow sun. GT holds LSG level on aggregate in IPL 2026
Despite a quick start in the Powerplay where LSG reached 50 runs in just 5.2 overs, Gujarat Titans’ bowling unit executed their plans perfectly. Lucknow Super Giants finished their innings at 164/8 after the full quota of 20 overs, a total that many pundits considered equal or better in the given conditions.
The LSG scorecard told a story of unconverted starters. Aiden Markram Looked like the smoothest, top-scorer with 21 off 30 balls (including 5 fours), but his dismissal to Krishna led to a mid-order swing. Mitchell Marsh (11) and captain Rishabh Pants (18) both fell cheaply Kagiso Rabada and Muhammad Sirajrespectively.
At the rear end of the shots, Nicholas Pooran (19) and Abdul Samad (18) tried to accelerate but GT’s death bowling proved too accurate. A late cameo Muhammad Shami (5 off 12) pushed the total past 160, giving the LSG bowlers something to defend. As the teams headed into halftime, the momentum remained steady Shubman Gill‘s men, largely thanks to Phillips’s wonder in the field and Krishna’s four-wicket haul.
