These 5 drivers get better when you drive slower

What stood out to me in our 2026 testing was not just which drivers performed well at slower spin speeds, but which of those improved because of her.

These five clearly did better when the swing speed dropped. If you’re not moving as fast as you used to (or never have), these are drivers worth taking a closer look at.

of Driver Srixon ZXi it was solid in the main test, but nothing about it screamed “must have”. It ended with one 8.4 overall resultlargely held back by a distant score that lagged behind the top tier.

This was completely reversed in the slow swing speed test.

The result of the distance was jumped to 9.8one of the biggest category improvements we saw in all 42 drivers. of ZXi it is efficient for slower players.

of Driver Srixon ZXi Max followed a similar path but got there in a different way. In the main test, he scored 8.5 overallwhere distance is the limiting factor. It was stable but did not split.

In the slow swing speed test, it was the most accurate driver in the test with an accuracy score of 9.8. Forgiveness was also strong in 9.4. Unless you’re chasing low spin or trying to squeeze in a few extra yards, ZXi Max it should help you keep the ball in play.

of Driver LA GOLF was already one of the most accurate drivers in the main test. Posted one Accuracy score 9.3but the distance (8.2) kept him from the top of the leaderboard.

Then the swing speed dropped and everything came together.

  • In general: 8.8 → 9.4 (No. 1 for slow movement speeds)
  • Accuracy: 9.3 → 9.6
  • Distance: 8.2 → 9.1

It’s still not the longest test driver, but it doesn’t have to be. What you get instead is a driver that stays in the game and doesn’t give up nearly as much distance as in the full-speed test.

of GT1 title driver is probably the easiest to explain and one of the most important for everyday players.

In the main test, he finished in 8.2 in generalwas the title’s lowest performing driver in testing.

In the slow swing speed test, it turned out to be one of the most forgiving drivers we tested with a score of 9.8.

If your loss model is costing you more than the raw distance, GT1 it could make sense.

of Takomo Ignis D1 driver didn’t get much attention in the main test. It ended in 8.5 overallright in that crowded middle class.

But when we isolated slower swing speeds, he became one of the best all-around performers:

  • In general: 8.5 → 9.0
  • Distance: 8.8 → 9.3
  • Forgiveness: 8.1 → 8.9

It is a balanced option offered at a fair price. If you’re looking for something a little more affordable than the $600 standard driver in 2026, consider Meet Fire.
