Barcelona have reportedly held contract talks with centre-back Andreas Christensen, who is attracting interest from a number of Premier League sides.
Christensen is approaching the final 18 months of his contract and has emerged as a potential asset for sale as Barcelona look to raise cash. attracting interest from Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
SPORTHowever, Christensen states that he is not interested in listing approaches from England and, instead, hopes to extend his stay with Barcelona.
It should be noted that conversations have been held between Barcelona and Christensen’s representatives with a view to agreeing on new terms.
Much of the uncertainty surrounding Christensen’s future stemmed from Barcelona’s decision to drop the injured defender from their squad in favor of summer signing Dani Olmo.
Club officials have publicly and privately assured Christensen that his future at the club is not in jeopardy, and have underlined their plan to re-sign the former Chelsea defender once the January window reopens.
However, if an extension is not agreed, Christensen could be forced to entertain offers, with Barcelona reluctant to avoid losing any players on a free transfer.
