At half-time, Inter led 2-1, but Roma were showing signs of life. The second half promised more goals as Roma pushed for a second equaliser, leaving spaces for Inter’s quick attacks.

Despite being far behind, Roma grabbed a late consolation. Captain Lorenzo Pellegrini scored in the 70th minute with a determined effort. This made the score 5-2, a slight improvement for the visitors.
