Well, I never thought I would write this sentence:
LeBron James — yes, that LeBron James — joined Bob plays sports for a four-person fight.
Is this real life?
It was about five months ago, in November 2025, when James casually tweeted that he has recently become obsessed with golf videos on YouTube. Since then, LeBron has tweeted several times about golf. Of his original tweets over the past few months, about half have been golf-related.
He shouted out Full Swing for putting a simulator in his house; they made fun of Grant Horvat eating tuna from a can with a fork; and told the world he would never play Oakmont after watching the Major Cut series with the Bryan Bros and Horvat.
Then came one Nike ad with LeBron and Tom Kim. The two appeared at the driving range showing off the Nike Powerbeats Pro 2, “the ultimate fitness headphones.”
results ANYONE can become obsessed with golf on YouTube.
Highlights from LeBron’s reunion with Bob Does Sports
I’m not a huge NBA follower beyond being a Miami Heat fan (even those memories are a bit hazy), so I went into the video pretty blind. I’m a massive sports fan, but I don’t know much about LeBron’s personality. My overall impressions have always been negative for whatever reason. I guess I always thought he was selfish and brash.
But I’d have to say this is up there for my favorite YouTube golf videos of 2026. And LeBron comes out pretty cool during this cooperation (in season!) with Bob Does.
LeBron said he “never thought about golf until eight months ago.” He told himself he wanted to make it to 40 and then take up a hobby he would “regret” (and golf definitely qualifies).
After his Los Angeles Lakers teammate Austin Reaves helped James get into golf, he went down a YouTube golf rabbit hole with the Bryan Bros., Horvat and then Bob Does Sports.
James honestly isn’t that bad for someone who just started the game less than a year ago. There’s a lot of work to be done, but I bet someone as athletic as LeBron can start making better contacts with a summer’s golf.
Golf aside, LeBron looked pretty cool and was telling tons of stories during the nine-hole scrimmage.
- When talking about the monotony of playing NBA games, he gave a scathing (and hilarious) dismissal of the city of Memphis and said the team should move to Nashville. He said the Grizzlies’ only chance to bring him back was in the draft lottery. Even then, he “may have pulled an Eli Manning” and refused to play for them.
- James said he rarely indulges in fast food at this point in his life, but has some food addictions. Chocolate chip cookies with ice cream? yes. In the pancake vs. french toast debate, LeBron is on team pancake. And if he had to crush too much of one food? Give him the tacos.
- I never would have guessed it, but LeBron gave a vulnerable (and unsolicited) take on his famous “Decision” when he left the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Heat. James was crucified for making that move a big spectacle, but his explanation of the reasoning behind the move and how it was portrayed made me feel sympathy. Basically he explained that he was young and had never left home before. It was time to do something different. He made a stupid mistake with the show “The Decision” and regretted letting the media make him out to be the villain. You ate it your first year in Miami.
- LeBron’s golf obsession runs deep. He has definitely been bitten by the bug. He said he watched the entire invitation online and even had thoughts on some of the controversy at the event.
I’m missing a few more notes, but you should really watch the video.
It’s so fascinating how a world-class athlete can be dominant in one sport and then completely lose it on the golf course. Whether it was football, baseball or any other sport, he would understand things about pure athleticism. Golf? There are more nuances than that.
And just like us, he’s totally addicted.
Is LeBron a good guy? I have no idea. But he destroyed it in his YouTube golf debut.
