The latest edition if packed with in-depth insights into the Boston and London marathons, as well as a review of the World Indoor Championships.

The latest edition of AW (released 2nd April) looks forward to the key spring marathons and returns to a brilliant edition of the World Indoor Championships.

Both the Boston and London marathons are renowned for their brilliant racing, and the quality of the fields suggests that this year’s editions will be no different. Olympian and commentator Tim Hutchings claims we are in fact in a golden age when it comes to marathon racing and analyzes the athletes who will be in the running.

This will be the 130th running of Boston, the world’s oldest annual marathon. We delve into its rich history and talk to the people who know it best to find out what makes it such a special part of the world of distance running.

Charles Hicks will tackle the famous course for the first time and discuss his move to the marathon, as well as his switch of allegiance from the UK to the US. Britain’s Callie Hauger-Tuckery, who was sixth in Boston last year, will have a very different experience navigating her pregnancy this time around. He shares his experience with it so far.

London will see the reunion of two long-time British friends and rivals, Emile Caress and Patrick Dever, with the latter chatting about his next challenge over 26.2 miles, as well as his ambitions. Meanwhile, it will be a full-circle moment for Julia Paternein, who won a surprise world marathon bronze for Uruguay last summer, but is returning to race in the country where she grew up and trained to become an athlete.

Our review of the World Indoors sees columnist Kathryn Merry reflect on one of the best and most eventful editions of the championships, while we also talk to Jenny Meadows about how coaching two gold medalists reignited her love for the sport and long jump silver medalist Larissa Iapicchino, despite two former athletes to carve her own path.

There’s an in-depth look at the devastation of the Grand Slam track, we hear how embattled athletes cope, while Peter Eriksson gives his coaching advice and Paul Freire tests the best road running shoes for race day.
