The selectors will make major changes to the Pakistan squad for the 2nd Test after the opening of the match

Pakistan Cricket Board After the humiliating defeat in the recently concluded first test against England, Pakistan will reportedly make several changes in their squad. The Shan Masood-led side ended up with a humiliating innings defeat even after posting a total of over 550 in the first innings.

England beat Pakistan by an innings and 47 runs to take the lead in the three-match series. Batting first on a flat pitch, Pakistan scored 556 runs in their first innings. Captain Shan Masood led from the front with 151 runs while Abdullah Shafiqa and Agha Salman also scored centuries.

In reply, England amassed a mammoth total of 823/7 (declared). Harry Brook and Joe Root starred with the bat for the visitors. When Brook scored a triple century, Root scored two tons. Brook was out for 217 runs while Root scored 262.

When England finished their first innings on day four, a draw looked the most likely outcome. However, the Pakistanis had a disastrous effort in the second innings. England even managed to reduce them to 82 for 6 by the end of the fourth day. Pakistan struggled for 220 runs on the final day.

Pakistan Squad Changes for 2nd PAK vs ENG Test:

According to reports in Cricket Pakistan, the Pakistan team is likely to have new additions ahead of the second Test. The Pakistan squad for the upcoming second Test is scheduled to be announced on Saturday (October 12).

It was reported in the news that the Pakistani team will include the out-of-favor batsman Imam-ul-Haq and the outfield player Kamran Ghulam. Kamran has played just one ODI for Pakistan so far and is yet to make his debut in the longest format of the game.

However, he has plenty of experience in red ball cricket. A left-arm bowler, Kamran has so far played 59 first-class matches and scored 4,377 runs with 16 centuries and 20 half-centuries. He also scored 28 goals. Kamran recently impressed by scoring two centuries in the Champions One Day Trophy.

On the other hand, Imam has not played a Test for Pakistan since December last year. In fact, he is yet to play a game for Pakistan this year. Last month, he impressed by scoring three consecutive fifties in the Champions One Day Trophy.

Pakistan may also recall left-arm spinner Noman Ali as Abrar Ahmed is doubtful for the second Test after falling ill during the first Test. Noman played the last of his 15 Tests during the tour of Sri Lanka in July last year.
