MotoGP has announced the postponement of the upcoming Qatar Grand Prix Because of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
As a result, the United States Grand Prix now marks the start of a three-week break in the MotoGP calendar, which won’t be seen again until the summer break in mid-July.
Unlike Formula 1, which opted to cancel the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix entirely, MotoGP bosses rescheduled the end of the season, with the Qatar Grand Prix moving to November 8.
Instead of holding five consecutive race weekends, the Portuguese Grand Prix and season finale in Valencia will be pushed back a week, with all other races remaining unaffected.
Speaking as part of the extension, MotoGP CEO Carmelo Izpeleta said: “This decision was taken with great care and full coordination with our partners in Qatar and across the paddock.
Our priority is always the safety and security of everyone involved in MotoGP and ensuring that every Grand Prix is ​​at the highest possible level.
When is the next MotoGP race after America?
The upcoming Qatar Grand Prix has been postponed until November, with the next MotoGP race being the Spanish Grand Prix. The event is scheduled for April 24-26, giving a three-week gap between tournaments.
The race was postponed due to the war in Iran, which resulted in grounding of flights in the Middle East, and at the time of writing, few flights in and out of Qatar have experienced significant logistical issues.
The delay to Qatar means MotoGP is now back on the European calendar and the first of four Spanish races in 2026.
What is the schedule for the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix?
The MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix takes place on the weekend of 24–26 April, marking the only race on the calendar for that month.
Sunday’s race at Circo de Jerez – Angel Nieto starts at 2:00pm and runs for 25 laps.
