George Martin’s only way to stay in Aprilia’s fold in 2027 is to get down to the trackhouse now.

The report comes on the same day that Fabio Quattararo left Yamaha to jump ship to Honda for 2027, so it came as a knee jerk.

However, Yamaha’s poor form in the early rounds of the 2026 season, with the Apria winning the opening two Grands Prix of the year, may have left Martin regretting his decision to make the move so quickly.

It has been suggested that there is a possibility that Martin will remain in the Aprilia fold, but it is not realistic that Martin will fall back to the Satellite team.

After taking off with the team at MotoGP in 2025 and improving throughout 2026, Ai Ogura looks set to be a lock at the Trackhouse for the 2027 MotoGP season.

Patterson said, “There’s this weird Joan Mir rumor coming up, and the reason I say weird is because if they sign Joan Mir, it’s coming at the expense of Raul Fernandez… I think it’s a matter of wires being crossed from what people assumed to be the reality.”

“That doesn’t mean it won’t happen, but right now it doesn’t seem like something that can be set in stone. And, I think they’ll do everything they can to keep Ogura on the other side of the box.”
